Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus got its start in 1969 when Mark Wieser opened a permanent roadside fruit stand in front of his family’s peach orchard in Fredericksburg, Texas. Mark grew up selling peaches from the 60 acres on which Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus now sits. His mother Estella, made jellies and preserves out of the tree-ripened fruit from their orchard. Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus grew from Mark’s passion to share his mother’s jellies with Fredericksburg, Texas and the rest of The Hill Country.
In 1967 Mark purchased the logs of an 1870 German log cabin for $150.00. Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus opened in June of 1969 for its first season. Soon after its opening Mark talked his mother and sister, Jeanette, into joining him in making jellies and preserves. This year in June marks the 39th anniversary, but actually our 40th summer season. Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus became a way of life for the Wieser family as every summer rolled around with a new crop of fresh peaches.
Soon Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus had a following of loyal customers who knew it was the place to go for the best peaches and preserves. Case Fischer, one of Mark’s students who worked for him during the summer, grew to love giving customers the opportunity to try fresh fruit and preserves. It was Case who envisioned that Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus could grow into what has now become Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, Inc.
Fischer & Wieser’s das Peach Haus has evolved into the home of The Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce ® and a destination for visitors coming to Fredericksburg, Texas . You can sample every delicious Fischer & Wieser product in the store. We offer custom made gift baskets that are made right here on site by our courteous staff. We also feature Bell Mountain Wines in the Oberhof Wine Cellar Tasting Room.
