5 Easy and Healthy Grilling Recipes

There is nothing better than summer dinner on the grill! While this can be a dinner time staple, after a while, the same old recipes can become monotonous. It can be difficult to find healthy grill recipes, or creative recipes to mix it up. That is where Fischer and Wieser comes in-our sauces have received numerous accolades, and are a fan-favorite to add dimension and flavor to your healthy summer dinner. In this blog, we share five innovative grill ideas that are easy to prepare and guaranteed to impress. 

Grill Idea #1: Sweet, Sour, and Smokey Mustard Grilled Chicken Skewers

Grilled chicken is the perfect lean protein for the grill! Chicken breasts are lower in calories, while chicken thighs provide more flavor. These delicious grilled chicken skewers use the Sweet, Sour, and Smokey Mustard Sauce which adds a perfect blend of sweetness and smokey flavor. Pair with a side salad for the perfect healthy dinner.

Ingredients: 

• 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
• 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
• 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks
• 6 small mushrooms, sliced
• 1 zucchini, sliced
• 1/2 cup Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour & Smokey Mustard Sauce
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Olive oil for brushing

Preparation Steps: 

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
2. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour, and Smokey Sauce. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Thread the chicken, bell peppers, onion, and zucchini onto skewers, alternating between the chicken and vegetables.
4. Brush the skewers with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
5. Grill the skewers for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the grilled vegetables are tender.
6. Serve grilled chicken hot.

Grill Idea #2: Mango Ginger Habanero Grilled Shrimp

Grilled seafood is excellent all summer long and one of the easiest seafoods to grill is shrimp. This recipe uses The Spicy Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce, which is a great marinade to give this dish a delightful kick and a tropical twist. 

Ingredients: 

• 24 large raw shrimp
• 6-8 strips of thinly sliced bacon, cut in thirds
• 1-3/4 cup Fischer & Wieser Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce
• Fresh cilantro for garnish

Preparation Steps: 

  1. Shell and devein shrimp leaving tails on.
  2. Wrap each shrimp tightly with one strip of bacon.
  3. Thread 6 shrimp on each skewer so that they lay flat on their sides on the grill.
  4. Grill on medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side until bacon is cooked and shrimp are pink. Spritz with half the lime while on the grill.
  5. Remove shrimp to serving platter and spritz with remaining lime.
  6. Brush with Fischer & Wieser Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro to garnish.

Grill Idea #3: Grilled Swordfish with Harvest Peach & Hatch Pepper Sauce 

Swordfish is a great protein for grilling season. Paired with our tasty and unique Harvest Peach & Hatch Pepper Sauce you’ll have an easy dinner that is sure to impress! Pair with grilled veggies sprinkled with lime juice or top with fresh herbs to take your meal to the next level.

Ingredients: 

• 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
• 4 teaspoons olive oil
• 1/2 teaspoon paprika
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 4 (6-ounce) skinless swordfish fillets
• 3/8 teaspoon salt
• 3/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• Cooking spray
• ½ cup Fischer & Wieser Harvest Peach & Hatch Pepper Sauce

Preparation Steps: 

1. Prepare grill to medium-high heat.
2. To prepare fish, combine lemon juice, oil, paprika, and minced garlic clove in a large, shallow glass baking dish, stirring with a whisk.
3. Add fish to juice mixture; turn to coat.
4. Cover and let stand 15 minutes. Remove fish from marinade; discard marinade.
5. Sprinkle fish evenly with 3/8 teaspoon salt and black pepper.
6. Place fish on a grill rack coated with cooking spray to avoid the fish sticking; grill 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
7. Serve fish with Fischer & Wieser Harvest Peach & Hatch Pepper Sauce.


Grill Idea #4: Peachy Grilled Pork Chop

Is there anything better than a pork chop? Our Fischer & Wieser Fredericksburg Peach jam adds the perfect summery spin to a classic! The peach jam in the glaze brings a natural sweetness and depth of flavor, making these pork chops a standout dish.  Pair this grilled pork chop with grilled corn for a healthy meal bursting with flavor.  

Ingredients: 

• 1-2 Thick cut bone in Pork Chops
• 2 tbsp garlic powder
• 2 tbsp grape seed oil
• ¼ cup Fischer & Wieser’s Fredericksburg Peach Jam
• Salt & pepper to taste

Preparation Steps:

1. Heat grill to medium high heat. Season pork chops with garlic powder and rub on a thin layer of oil. 
2. Place on grill and let cook for a few minutes then lift and rotate 90 degrees and continue to cook for another 2 minutes. Flip steak and repeat. Cook steak until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
3.  Remove from grill and spread on a thin layer of Fischer & Wieser’s Fredericksburg Peach Jam and let rest for 5 minutes. 
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste and enjoy.

Grill Idea #5: Sweet and Smokey Raspberry Chipotle Burger 

Now- you may think the only healthy burgers are veggie burgers- however- we think we couldn’t compile grilling recipes without burgers! While this may not fall under healthy grilling recipes- we can’t have you miss out on the perfect pairing of a beef patty and our famous Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce®. Try this unique take on a summer bbq classic that is as easy as it is tasty and we will bet your burgers will never be the same!

Ingredients: 

• 1 lb ground beef
• 1/4 cup Fischer & Wieser The Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce®
• 4 burger buns
• 4 slices cheddar cheese
• Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings
• Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Steps:

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Fischer & Wieser Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Form the beef mixture into 4 patties.
4. Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, until they reach the desired doneness.
5. During the last minute of grilling, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and let it melt.
6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
7. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the grilled patties.
